EMDR INTENSIVES

Personalized therapy experiences across CA. Find relief & experience change…fast.

Is traditional therapy just not cutting it anymore?

You’ve done the work. You’ve learned the skills. But something is still holding you back.

Maybe you’ve done therapy before, or are currently in therapy, but need a hard nudge to feel some relief.

Intensives give you the opportunity to go deep, creating palpable results that give you the experience of a very clear BEFORE & AFTER.

You’ve don’t have time to devote to weekly therapy sessions

You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing

Schedules can be hectic, or maybe you don’t want to attend therapy weekly but you want results.

I get it, getting into the depths of painful feelings can take a lot out of you. And at the same time, we know processing feelings creates healing. Attending an intensive can allow you to do “the work" without disrupting your schedule and flow on a weekly basis.

Or maybe you are just eager to feel better & you want to get there sooner, rather than later.

You’re in the right place.

EMDR intensives can help you accomplish in one session what may take months in traditional therapy.

An EMDR Intensive is alternative therapeutic approach that allows for deep, focused work over a condensed period.

Rather than traditional one hour weekly sessions, you would set aside a specific block of time- any where from 3 hours or 3 days - for intensive therapeutic work.

What is an EMDR Intensive?

This format is a powerful way to accelerate the healing that you would experience in a typical EMDR session without having time in between sessions.

It helps people journey deeper and feel better faster.

How it works:

Pre-Intensive Assessment

We start by meeting for 90 minutes to get to the root of what is going on for you, determine the goals of your EMDR Intensive, and prepare for the experience. We will identify the painful memories, beliefs, emotions, or images from which you are seeking relief.

Personalized Treatment Workbook

The workbook includes assessments and activities to prepare for the Intensive. The workbook allows you keep a record of progress on your treatment goals before, during, and after our sessions.

Intensive Session

The EMDR Intensive sessions take place at the office in Pasadena or virtually, and are scheduled for 1-3 days for 3 hours each day. Includes somatic grounding using Tibetan crystal singing bowls and targeted treatment customized to your chosen goals.

Post-Intensive Follow-Up

A 90-minute session to debrief the experience and reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation. Discuss your next steps for continued growth and healing.

IMAGINE FINALLY GETTING TO…

Resolve deep wounds that cause you pain

Past traumas and wounds can have a ripple effect far beyond the initial injury if they go unhealed. Let’s do some healing together, so you can move past the pain.

Experience accelerated transformation & relief

It may feel impossible to heal right now, or like it will take “forever”. However, EMDR intensives offer results that can feel truly life changing.

Once you do the intensive and reprocess painful memories that create negative beliefs about yourself or the world, a domino effect of change takes place. Some examples include your world becomes friendlier, more vivid, and internally calmer & more spacious.

Overcome the obstacles that limit joy

Find the healing you’ve been seeking.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, sounds, or tapping—to help the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

During EMDR, you remain in control and fully present while your therapist gently guides you through the process. As the brain reprocesses the memory, the emotional charge decreases, and you can begin to see the experience in a new, less distressing way. Many people find that EMDR not only reduces symptoms of trauma but also helps them feel calmer, more empowered, and better able to move forward.

  • You might be a good fit for an intensive if you’re ready to focus deeply on your healing and want to make meaningful progress in a shorter amount of time.

Intensives can be especially helpful if you:

    • Feel “stuck” and want to break through old patterns

    • Are working through trauma, anxiety, or other distressing experiences

    • Prefer to immerse yourself in the process rather than spread it out week to week

    • Have a busy schedule and want concentrated time for therapy

If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay—we’ll talk through your goals and see if an intensive is the right match for you or if weekly therapy makes more sense.

  • Regular therapy usually happens once a week in shorter sessions, giving you steady support over time. Intensives, on the other hand, are longer sessions (or multiple sessions close together) that allow us to dive in deeply without the usual stop-and-start of weekly therapy.

This focused time gives your brain and body the chance to stay with the healing process, which can help you make faster, more meaningful progress. Many people find that intensives feel like months of therapy condensed into a few powerful days.

FAQ’s

Other intensive questions? I’ve got answers.

  • Many people use EMDR to work through a range of topics such as:

    • Traumatic events or PTSD

    • Anxiety and panic

    • Grief and loss

    • Childhood wounds or difficult family experiences

    • Childhood sexual abuse

    • Relationship issues and attachment wounds

    • Low self-esteem or feeling “not good enough”

    • Stress from work or life changes

    • Phobias or fears

    • Negative core self-image

    • Self trust issues

  • EMDR Intensives give you the results you would get from months of therapy in a much shorter period of time. If you add up the cost of weekly therapy, an EMDR Intensive is actually more cost effective. Instead of waiting months, you can get the same results in a few days.

  • Some insurance plans will reimburse a portion of the cost of an EMDR Intensive.

Please know that the insurance company requires a diagnosis code as a reason for treatment. I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card in order to get details about your specific plan. I’m happy to provide more information to help with this process & check your out-of-network benefits.
